Mindfulness Meditation Group is held on Tuesday evenings from 6 to 7 p.m. The meditation group is designed for those interested in learning and practicing the ancient (and modern) skills of sitting meditation, short walking meditation and Loving-Kindness reciting. Short readings concerning meditation and it’s benefits are presented with short discussions following.
The format is two, twenty minute sitting meditation sessions with a five minute walking meditation between them, Loving-Kindness reciting and a short inspirational reading and discussion.
This meditation group is secular in nature with practices, readings and spiritual ideas from many different sources.
The Group was started by Rev. Sara Zimmerman in 2008, and member led since about 2010. Currently Grant Wilson is the main facilitator with David Stickell filling in as needed.
