UUCT practices a ministry of loving kindness by providing support for members and friends who are experiencing joys or sorrows. We do not have committee meetings. All members of UUCT serve on the Care Team by supporting care activities for the church community in ways both large and small.

Tempie Taudte, a retired registered nurse and former guidance counselor, coordinates care efforts by personal contact, email, and phone calls. She communicates with the minister when she becomes aware of care issues which need his/her attention. UUCT members with specific skills, such as counseling, health care, and social services are available when needed.

In recent years we have sent get well and sympathy cards, made hospital visits, delivered meals and driven members to medical appointments.

A recent example of our Care Team in action:  When the person who serves as nursery attendant and housekeeper was diagnosed with cancer, we performed her job for eight months while she was undergoing treatment. This allowed her to continue to receive her salary during this stressful time.
