We have many traditions, but that doesn’t mean that every member would agree they would like to keep all of them.<\/em><\/p>\n

We like food with our meetings, so most of the time there is a pot luck at congregational meetings and other events.<\/p>\n

Thank you dinner<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

We have “Conversations with the Board” on the last Sunday of every month.\u00a0 It follows the service but there is no food, so it is usually over fairly quickly.<\/p>\n

\"Touch<\/a>
Touch each other with gentle hands . . .<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

We are sometimes called the “holding hands” church because we end every service by holding hands and singing our closing song.<\/p>\n

We present the Betty McCluer Lee Distinguished Service Award every year at our May Congregational Meeting to a deserving member.<\/p>\n

We have a weekly Joys and Concerns time during the service.\u00a0 Attendees write their joy or concern in a book provided, and the Care Committee chair person reads the entries aloud.<\/p>\n

Music is important to us.\u00a0 We have a robust choir,\u00a0 musically talented members who contribute their art, and a Monday mUUic group that meets for informal music-making.<\/p>\n

We enjoy a Flower Communion service every Spring along with an egg hunt for the children – with a pot luck of course.<\/p>\n

We all show up for the Water Communion service the first Sunday in September.<\/p>\n

We always have a tree trimming party that is inter-generational in early December.<\/p>\n
