{"id":699,"date":"2014-09-29T14:21:02","date_gmt":"2014-09-29T14:21:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/uutampa.org\/search2014\/?page_id=699"},"modified":"2014-11-17T15:36:37","modified_gmt":"2014-11-17T15:36:37","slug":"our-property","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/uutampa.org\/search2014\/our-property","title":{"rendered":"Our Property and Buildings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/uutampa.org\/search2014\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/DSC02631.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-918 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/uutampa.org\/search2014\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/DSC02631-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"DSC02631\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/uutampa.org\/search2014\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/DSC02631-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/uutampa.org\/search2014\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/DSC02631.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>It&#8217;s easy to ignore the sounds of nearby traffic on Interstate 75 when sitting in our gazebo.\u00a0 The scent of nature from the moist earth, the flowering shrubs and canopy of oaks take over as a butterfly flutters by and settles on a nearby blossom.\u00a0 Sometimes our grounds become overwhelmed with vines and encroaching plants, but we love it, and participate in a monthly Building and Grounds day on the second Saturday.\u00a0 Often people will say that it was the natural setting that drew them to our church.\u00a0 In addition to the grounds with an herb garden, memorial garden, meditation meadow, playground, and scattered picnic tables or benches, we have three buildings:<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_475\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-475\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/uutampa.org\/search2014\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/uu-church-tampa-boost.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-475 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/uutampa.org\/search2014\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/uu-church-tampa-boost-300x193.jpg\" alt=\"Our santuaru\" width=\"300\" height=\"193\" srcset=\"https:\/\/uutampa.org\/search2014\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/uu-church-tampa-boost-300x193.jpg 300w, https:\/\/uutampa.org\/search2014\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/uu-church-tampa-boost.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-475\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Our sanctuary<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<ul>\n<li>The <a href=\"http:\/\/uutampa.org\/search2014\/?attachment_id=1282\">\u201cLarge Dome\u201d Building<\/a> \u2013 This 4500 square foot domed-roof building houses the Church\u2019s sanctuary with a balcony and offices of the Minister, the Director of Children\u2019s Religious Education, and Choir Director. The building may soon require a new roof, since the original has not been replaced since the building was constructed in 1989. The roof replacement cost is estimated to be in excess of $30,000.00, to be financed from the Church\u2019s Contingency Fund.\n<p><figure id=\"attachment_522\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-522\" style=\"width: 224px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/uutampa.org\/search2014\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/mpb2-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-522\" src=\"http:\/\/uutampa.org\/search2014\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/mpb2-1-224x300.jpg\" alt=\"Multipurpose Religious Education Building\" width=\"224\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/uutampa.org\/search2014\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/mpb2-1-224x300.jpg 224w, https:\/\/uutampa.org\/search2014\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/mpb2-1-764x1024.jpg 764w, https:\/\/uutampa.org\/search2014\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/mpb2-1.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 224px) 100vw, 224px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-522\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Multipurpose Religious Education Building<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The <a href=\"http:\/\/uutampa.org\/search2014\/?attachment_id=1283\">&#8220;Multi-Purpose Religious Education&#8221; Building <\/a>\u2013 This 3,600 square foot building was dedicated in 2011 as a life-span religious education building and financed largely with a successful capital campaign. The Church borrowed from our own Endowment and Scholarship Funds, and the building will be paid off in the near future. The building\u2019s five meeting rooms are used for religious education classes and committee meeting spaces. It is a new building in good repair, requiring minimal maintenance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The \u201cSmall Dome\u201d Building \u2013 This 1800 square foot geodesic dome <a href=\"http:\/\/uutampa.org\/search2014\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/DSC02633.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-917\" src=\"http:\/\/uutampa.org\/search2014\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/DSC02633-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Small Dome\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/uutampa.org\/search2014\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/DSC02633-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/uutampa.org\/search2014\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/DSC02633-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>was erected in 1975 as the original church. In 1988 when a replacement building, the Large Dome, was erected, the Small Dome became the center for Children\u2019s Religious Education classes and remained so, until 2011, when the Education Building was constructed and dedicated for that purpose. Since then, the Small Dome has been undergoing in-house renovations (new paint job inside, pressure washing outside, and new windows) in hopes of repurposing the structure to fulfill the congregation\u2019s yet-to-be determined future needs. These in-house renovations are being financed by the Church annual budget under the Buildings and Grounds category.
