The UUHumanists of Tampa is housed at the UUChurch of Tampa but is open to anyone interested in attending, \u200birrespective of their theological leanings. We have been meeting for about a decade on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month with a break in the summer. \u200bWe promote an open discussion of moral and ethical issues based upon a published article distributed via our Yahoo! group or by e-mail prior to the meeting. Topics and parts of the discussion have varied. Examples include the development of morality in childhood, income inequality, the genetic contributions to morality, militarization of police, the brain as the mediator of decisions, reasons for favoring atheism, compassion, and animal aggression.\u200b<\/p>\n
\u200bM\u200beeting attendance has\u200b varied in number from 2 to 10, but attendance has decreased in the last few years, perhaps because of the variety of new church activities that have developed.
